Perdition is an interesting dive into psychological horror, using stark black-and-white imagery to create a world that feels unsettling, lonely, and increasingly nightmarish.
The film follows Kevin, a man struggling with his past as those memories and personal demons begin consuming him. What stood out to me was how genuine that struggle felt. Beneath the surreal and disturbing imagery is a very human story about someone being haunted by things he cannot escape.
The black-and-white presentation works particularly well. It isn’t simply a stylistic choice, it contributes to the uncomfortable atmosphere and gives Perdition an almost dreamlike quality. You can certainly feel the influence of David Lynch and The Twilight Zone, but the filmmakers take those inspirations and create their own strange nightmare.
As a Midnight Feature, this is exactly the kind of movie that can generate conversation afterward. It is dark, unusual, sometimes uncomfortable, and willing to take creative chances.
Perdition isn’t interested in giving audiences a conventional experience. It wants you inside Kevin’s nightmare, experiencing the confusion and darkness alongside him.

It’s an intriguing piece of Florida independent filmmaking and a great example of filmmakers embracing atmosphere, experimentation, and personal storytelling.
